You can use number formats to change the appearance of numbers without changing the number behind the appearance. The number display defaults to Auto mode. You can change the display by choosing, in View menu, Number Format, or by clicking on the F10 function key.
The lines which started with # are command lines. With these lines it is possible to change the number format or the angle measurement. For a scientific mode with 5 decimal places enter #sci5 in the input line.
Only in the Fix mode Calculator for Chemists will make differences between the period and coma.
#auto Auto mode
If you activate this option the Calculator for Chemists will automatically determine the number display of the result. The range of real numbers is from -1.7E+308 to 1.7E+308 with 15 decimal places.
#sci x Scientific mode
Scientific mode displays a number as a mantissa, with one digit to the left of the decimal point and an user-specified number of decimal places (x), and an exponent. For example, 1234 appears as 1.23400 E+03 in the scientific mode with 5 decimal places.
#fix x Fix mode
Fix mode displays the numbers rounded to a user-specified number of decimal places (x). Fix mode sets the display to show the result with a maximum of 25-digits.
If the Use Digit Grouping (#dig) is checked, then the number is shown in decimal format with a separator (small space) that separates groups of three digits in real numbers greater than 999.
